Honeywell expands PVC lubricant range
June 2006
Honeywell has expanded its family of high-performance speciality lubricants for PVC extrusion. Introduced at NPE in Chicago, USA at the end of June, the company says that it has expanded the lubricant family, which is marketed under the Honeywell Rheochem® brand, from four to ten standard formulations. The new products will meet a wider variety of demands from PVC producers, while also continuing to customize formulations for customers as needed. Honeywell Rheochem lubricants are formulated to improve productivity for PVC window and door profiles, fencing, piping and vinyl siding applications.
Honeywell introduced the line of high-performance lubricants at K 2004. Honeywell developed the lubricants to work with established tin and calcium/zinc stabilization systems.
According to the company, the lubricants have allowed a variety of PVC producers to operate extrusion machinery at peak efficiency, extrude PVC compounds at lower melt temperatures, reduce burning and discoloration, reduce plate-out, lower the frequency of maintenance shutdowns, reduce power consumption, and minimize rejection rates.
