Clariant buys Ciba Specialty Chemicals’ masterbatches business

Clariant is acquiring Ciba Specialty Chemicals’ masterbatches business. The purchase is set to be completed by the end of the year.

The annual sales of Ciba’s masterbatches business are in the region of CHF 80 million. It employs 300 people and has production facilities in France, Saudi Arabia and Malaysia.

Clariant believes that the acquisition will strengthen its masterbatches division, optimizing its service capabilities in Europe and increasing its presence in the Middle Eastern and Asia Pacific markets.
