High-performance pigment facility becomes operational

2 November 2006

The joint venture production facility of Clariant International’s Pigments & Additives Division and Hangzhou Baihe Chemicals Co Ltd has passed the commissioning phase and is now fully operational. The facility, situated in Hangzhou, China, produces high-performance (HP) pigments. It was built following increased demand for HP pigments in China and other countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

Output at the plant includes six product lines of red and yellow HP Pigments. The products are marketed and sold by Clariant’s international organisation.

“With this facility, the country really moves into high-performance pigments from domestic production,” commented Gary Fielding, regional president Asia of Clariant International.
