Polynt acaquires Chinese plasticizer business

Polynt Hong Kong Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of Italy-based the Polynt Group, has acquired the speciality plasticizers business of Chinese company Hinbo International Industrial Co. Ltd. The operation has been integrated with the trimellitic anhydride production business Polynt acquired in China in July. The company says that the acquisition is part of its strategy for growth in Asia.

Plasticizer production will be at the Polynt Chemical (Changzhou) Co. Ltd facility, where a new 25,000 tonnes/year plant will be built within the next year to serve the growing Chinese and Asian market. The total cost of the project represents an investment of around 10 million Euros.

Polynt Group is a manufacturer of intermediates for the production of polymers including maleic anhydride and derivatives, phthalic anhydride and general plasticizers, trimellitic anhydride and speciality plasticizers, unsaturated polyester resins, and thermosetting compounds.
