Velsicol increases production capacity

Velsicol Chemical Corporation is expanding production capacity for the Benzoflex® benzoate ester plasticizers, Admex® polymeric plasticizers and Velate® coalescing aids at its Chestertown, MD plant in the USA. The company plans to add 8,000 tons of new production capability.

According to Velsicol’s chief executive officer, Ross McMillan, the company is continuing its strong commitment to the coatings, adhesives, sealants and vinyl substrates markets by investing in capacity to satisfy the growing needs of customers. The investment will also provide additional capacity to produce several new patented polymer additive products introduced earlier this year. As demand for products grows, Velsicol says that it will continue to make investments in assets and, as appropriate, acquisitions to provide value-added product solutions.

Velsicol is also in the planning process for a capacity expansion at its European manufacturing facility in Kohtle-Järve, Estonia.
