Automotives get scratch resistance

Evonik (formerly Degussa) has developed Tecomer® Antiscatch 100 for imparting scratch resistance during car manufacturing. The company says that its use avoids additional coating operations for the plastic parts, offers freedom in design and provides the long term scratch resistance required by end-users. According to Evonik, increased surface slip leads to better antiscratch properties. This means that scratches are less deep and light scattering is reduced, and therefore they are less visible. This results in car manufacturers being able to obtain attractive prices for high value surfaces. This provides high quality car interior surfaces for end-users.
