Impact modifier increases impact strength by 20%

Arkema Inc has added an opaque, high-efficiency grade to its line of Clearstrength® MBS impact modifiers. Clearstrength® 859 is designed for use in injection moulding, opaque sheet and profile applications, and is said to impart up to 20% higher impact strength compared to traditional opaque impact modifiers.

According to Arkema Inc, the modifier improves impact strength of opaque rigid polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) while maintaining a wide processing window. It is manufactured with a tight process and quality controls which ensure excellent lot-to-lot consistency, contributing to the uniformity of PVC and CPVC compounds.
