ABS-based compound finds static-sensitive applications

Techmer Lehvoss Compounds (TLC) is introducing a static dissipative polymer alloy for static-sensitive applications such as housings, enclosures and parts for office machines, consumer appliances and industrial equipment amongst other applications.

Electrafil ABS-1200/SD/FR offers tensile strength and tensile modulus of 6,000 psi and 310,000 psi respectively; flexural strength and modulus of 6,500 psi and 290,000 psi; and an impact strength of 2.5 ft-lbs per inch.

“This ABS-based material offers a combination of properties that’s hard to find anywhere else,” says Tom Drye, TLC’s global business development manager. “In one ABS compound, we provide a V-O flammability rating, good impact, static dissipation, nice surface finish, and essentially any colour anyone could want.”
