Anjamid PA 6 for automotive applications

J&A Plastics has introduced an Anjamid polyamide (PA) 6 to its range of polyamides. The material is already successfully being used in premium-segment automotive cable conduits.

The Anjamid 6 J250-T2/GF type, marketed under the name Anjamid ‘TripleTwo’, combines high impact resistance and Charpy toughness values, with high rigidity and excellent flow properties. It has a modulus of 5000 MPa, Charpy impact resistance of 67 kJ/m2 and Charpy toughness value of 16 kJ/m2.

The product can be used for manufacturing long, thin-walled parts and heavily-used functional devices that require excellent surface properties. It also finds applications in sun roofs and cordless hammer drill housings as a result of its high impact resistance and greater fibre-glass content.
