PolyOne expands South American product offering

Polymer material manufacturer PolyOne Corp has extended its range of speciality compounds in Brazil and other areas of South America. Plásticos Novacor will manufacture several of PolyOne’s product lines to support the expansion.

Plásticos Novocor’s plant in the Sao Paolo area will produce Stat-Tech™ electrically conductive compounds, Lubri-Tech™ lubricated and wear-resistant compounds, and EdgeTek™ engineering thermoplastic compounds.

Stat-Tech compounds provide protection from electrostatic discharge (ESD), shielding from electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference (EMI/RFI) and permanent antistatic protection. Improved wear resistance and a low coefficient of friction are offered by Lubri-Tech compounds. High operating temperatures, impact strength and flame resistance are key features of EdgeTek compounds.

The compounds will be sold in Brazil and exported to Argentina and potentially other South American countries.
