Teknor Apex creates new TPE division to serve Europe

9 November 2006

Teknor Apex launched a new thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) division at the recent Fakuma exhibition in Friedrichshafen, Germany. The organization will be based in Oldbury, UK, at the headquarters of Chem Polymer, a Teknor Apex subsidiary and compounder of a range of engineering thermoplastics. It will provide direct sales and service to European processors of TPEs.

To further serve the European market, the company has announced plans to begin production of TPEs in the region by 2008. This will coincide with the opening of a Teknor Apex TPE plant in China.

Teknor Apex is a supplier of TPE compounds to a number of markets including the automotive, appliance, construction, wire and cable industries. The company’s products include di- and tri-block hydrogenated styrene block copolymers, thermoplastic polyolefin blends and thermoplastic vulcanizates.
