Symphony signs Middle East agreement for degradable plastics technology

Symphony Environmental Technologies plc, the degradable plastics and waste-to-energy group, has signed a distribution and manufacturing agreement with the Fujairah Plastics Group of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, which is thel argest degradable polymer supply agreement the group has ever made. The company says that the agreement runs for 15 years and it will cover the territories of UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Egypt, Libya, Syria and Jordan. It is exclusive for specific grades of Symphony's d2w™ degradable polymers and will be implemented by its wholly-owned subsidiary, Symphony Environmental Ltd. The d2w™ degradable plastics technology can make plastics and polymers degrade completely in as little as six months.

Symphony will deliver a minimum of 500 tons of d2w™ polymers directly to Fujairah's newly established operating company, Ecopolymers Company, between the end of May and mid August this year. Once production is up and running, volumes are expected to reach more than 500 tons monthly.
