EPA recognizes Sylvin for lead-free facility
Sylvin Technologies Inc has received recognition from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for eliminating the use of lead from all its products and becoming a lead-free facility.
The company’s research and development team monitored lead usage and developed lead-free alternatives to its existing compounds. Customers were then encouraged to make the switch. As a result, lead usage shrunk yearly until the company reached its goal of eliminating lead completely.
Sylvin is a manufacturer of custom flexible PVC and PVC alloy compounds, based in Denver, Pennsylvania, USA. The company has been a member of the EPA’s National Partnership for Environmental Priorities (NPEP) programme since 2004. The programme recognizes companies for their efforts in reducing or eliminating the usage of hazardous chemicals.
