SO.F.TER makes acquisition

Italian compounder SO.F.TER. SpA, based in Forlì, has acquired Matrixx Europe Srl, the European subsidiary of the American company Matrixx Group Inc. with headquarters in the Mantua district of Italy. SO.F.TER. SpA has been a leading manufacturer of polymer compounds for industrial applications for more than 25 years. Matrixx Europe has two production sites in Marcaria and Castelgoffredo - from the acquisition of Pozzi Plast in 2006. The company is a specialist in the production of thermoplastic resin compounds for a wide range of applications, based on polyamide 6 and 66, PBT and polypropylene. Matrixx Europe has an installed capacity of approximately 15,000 tons/year, with a staff of around 30.

Italo Carfagnini, president and managing director of SO.F.TER. says: “The product range and distribution network of Matrixx Europe strongly complements those of SO.F.TER. Engineering Thermoplastics Division, and this will allow us to develop strong synergies between the two organizations in a short space of time.”
