PMB signs antimicrobial masterbatch deal

UK-based PMB (Performance Masterbatches) has signed an exclusive manufacturing agreement with SteriTouch Ltd, allowing PMB to sell and market SteriTouch antimicrobial masterbatch to the plastics industry in the UK and Ireland.

A silver ion based antimicrobial, SteriTouch is claimed to provide lifetime protection of a component. The company adds that SteriTouch masterbatch has been extensively tested and is highly effective against MRSA, E.Coli and Salmonella. It can be added to natural polymer at normal let down rates or combined with a colorant. Use of the SteriTouch® trademark in product branding is licence-free; help and advice on the correct use of claims language, marketing advice and comprehensive test reports are available direct from SteriTouch.
