GE Plastics expands in Pacific region
GE Plastics has expanded its production of LNP Faradex electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding compounds to the Pacific region.
Amongst the compounds that are being manufactured at the company’s Moka facility in Japan is GE Plastics recently launched LNP Faradex NS0031 grade. The compound is based on a blend of polycarbonate and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (PC/ABS) and provides flame retardance without the use of brominated or chlorinated additives.
LNP Faradex compounds are said to offer performance and processing similar to that of their unfilled base resins, which includes PC, ABS, polypropylene and polyamide 6. Applications for the compounds include consumer electronics such as digital cameras and portable DVD players.
