Pigment improves turf's looks

Colortherm Yellow pigments produced by Lanxess are being used in artificial turf for sports arenas. The products are said to give the turf its green colour at the same time as improving its durability and weather-resistance.

Depending on the grade, the iron oxide pigments remain stable at temperatures up to 300°C (572°F) and, used in quantities up to around 4% pigment, have a UV-stabilising effect as well as providing colour. The company claims that Colortherm Yellow also has very good dispersing capacity, is physiologically safe and satisfies the requirements of the US Food and Drug Administration’s foodstuffs ordinance.
