Novatec plans drying technology centre

June 2006

Novatec Inc. is constructing what it claims is the plastics industry’s first facility for rigorously testing and demonstrating the performance of drying systems. The company says that the Drying Technology Center will enable processors to compare alternative types of dryer in terms of energy efficiency, drying speed, and other critical parameters.
No similar facility exists, either at auxiliary equipment companies or in the technical centres of resin companies, according to Novatec president and chief executive officer Conrad M. Bessemer. The company says that the whole purpose of the 390 sq.m (4,200 sq. ft.) Drying Technology Center is to make selection easier and more successful.

Novatec supplies desiccant, hot air, compressed air, and infrared dryers, as well as the NovaDrier™ compressed air/membrane system and the new NovaVac II™ vacuum dryer.
