Wittmann buys blender range

Wittmann Canada has acquired the M-Tek blending and materials handling line from Mould-Tek. The company says that this is part of its global expansion to supply a complete range of auxiliary equipment for the plastics industry.

According to Rob Miller, president, Wittmann Canada, the company has been a significant player in the systems market for many years, but has never had its own blenders to offer customers. Blenders were a key missing piece as a manufacturer and the company can now supply fully integrated complete systems using a single controls platform.

The M-Tek line of blenders offer true gravimetric blending (real time live scale), with pinch valve technology that precisely measures all materials for good batch-to-batch consistency. Wittmann says that the accuracy of the blenders brings significant savings advantages in terms of colour and resin consumption. Other features of the large blender product range include touch screen control, Windows™-based data acquisition, and remote internet accessability.
