Cofit International opens US office

Cofit International, a producer of screen changers, gear pumps and pelletizers for the plastics industry, is establishing Cofit America LLC. The American operation will provide technical sales and support in North and Central America, and is located in Palm City (Stuart), Florida.

The establishment of an American office is said to be part of the company’s plan to introduce new developments in the design and use of screen changers and related products, and to continue supporting its European OEM customer base in the Americas. Cofit America will offer the traditional slide plate screen changer that it has been manufacturing since the company was founded but will focus on the AutoPurge family of patented compact, continuous flow, PLC controlled, self-cleaning screen changers. The company also has exclusive worldwide rights to market and support the Alfatech/Cofit Gear Pump, designed and manufactured by Alfatech in Italy.

While the Cofit name is not widely recognized in the American market, its line of slide plate screen changers and hot face pelletizers were marketed to the US plastics industry under an agreement with the old Beringer company.
